Arabic translation of Shakespeare’s works and its discontents

Alexandria — As part of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina"s effort to enrich the Arabic culture, the Dialogue Forum, an affiliate to the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, is organizing a seminar regarding the Arabic translation of Shakespeare’s works and its discontents, on 3 June 2006. The seminar congregates authors and writers who are specialized in English literature and especially in Shakespeare’s works. The seminar will be attended by professor Mohamed Mostafa Badawi, Professor Mohamed Anany, Professor Fatma Mousa, and Professor Gamal Abdel Maksoud, it is chaired by Dr. Gaber Asfour, Secretary General, Supreme Council of Culture.

The seminar focuses on the problems and obstacles that arise in the translation of Shakespeare’s work.

The seminar takes place 5:00 pm, West Hall, BACC.
