The Bibliotheca Alexandrina has inaugurated the exhibition "Party in the 21st Century", which is held in cooperation with the Embassy of Slovakia in Cairo and the Honorary Consulate in Alexandria, and features limited editions of paintings representing the Slovak "parta", a rare traditional headband on the verge of extinction. The ceremony witnessed the presence of Ms. Lenka Miháliková, Ambassador of Slovakia to Egypt; Ms. Angelina Eichhorst, Head of the European Union Delegation to Egypt; Mr. Sašo Podlesnik, Ambassador of Slovenia to Egypt; Mr. Mohamed El-Naggar, Honorary Consul of Slovakia in Alexandria; Dr. Mohamed Soliman; Deputy Director of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina; and Ms. Heba El-Rafey, Acting Head of the External Relations and Media Sector.

The exhibition showcases the headbands and historical wreaths worn by unmarried girls, a project that aims to revive Slovak cultural heritage and customs and introduce them to the current generation through a modern artistic vision.

The exhibition features 50 high-quality photographic plates of girls wearing traditional headbands with hand-painted motifs on their faces, along with a display of original folk costumes accompanied by wreaths.
