“Editing Folkloric Texts” in a Forum at the BA

The BA Manuscripts Center organizes a forum entitled “Editing Folkloric Texts (The Reality and Method)” on 22 and 23 June 2022, in the BACC Lecture Hall.
The Center is honored to invite researchers with an interest in the heritage field – particularly folklore and its different streams, origins, and research methods – to present research papers in Arabic at the forum, with an aim of preserving the Arabic heritage of folkloric manuscripts, which represents a significant part of the Arab social proof.
Topics of Research:

Arabic folklore, and its streams and manifestations.

The reality of folkloric manuscripts in Arab countries.

The importance of folkloric manuscripts and their sources.
-
The methods of editing folkloric manuscripts.
-
The differences in the methods of editing folkloric manuscripts in the East and West.

The features of Coptic folkloric manuscripts.
Important Dates:

Abstracts (maximum 300 words in Word format) and a brief summary should be sent no later than 10 May 2022.

The deadline for receiving full research papers is 15 June 2022.

The forum is held on 22 and 23 June 2022.

The forum is open for public, and the sessions will be broadcast online.

Accepted research papers will be published in a book issued by the BA.

Research papers accepted from outside Egypt will be presented online.
