The BA Pays Tribute to the Memory of Baligh Hamdi

The BA Multimedia Unit is organizing a seminar entitled "Baligh Hamdi: The Pulse of Arabic Music" to pay tribute to the memory of the great musician Baligh Hamdi (October 1931 – September 1993). It will take place at 6:00 pm on Sunday, 14 September 2025, in the BACC Delegates Hall.
The seminar will address several important topics revolving around the legacy of the great musician Baligh Hamdi, the important milestones in his rich artistic career, how he contributed to enriching Arabic music with timeless masterpieces, and how he created a school with unique artistic features that placed him at the top of Arab composers. His profound influence on the formation of Egyptian and Arab artistic identity will also be highlighted.
The seminar will include a screening of a documentary film on Baligh Hamdi followed by a meeting with director Hussein Bakr, former President of Egypt Film Center, and film critic and screenwriter Fayza Hindawy.
The event is free of charge and open for public.
