Prof. Ahmed Zayed, Director of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, congratulated the two students, Mariam Mohamed ElKady and Malak Magued Abu Wadi, who won second place at the Regeneron ISEF 2025, which was held in the United States from 10 to 16 May 2025, with the participation of hundreds of students from different countries around the world.
Dr. Zayed praised this achievement, stating that it is a new scientific achievement added to Egypt's record of creativity and excellence.
It should be noted that Mariam and Malak were qualified to participate in this international forum through the BA Science and Engineering Fair (BASEF 2025), organized by the Planetarium Science Center. They competed with an innovative scientific project entitled "Nightingale... Simulating Sleep Waves", which deservedly won second place at ISEF 2025 and the first prize in the special prize category, amid international acclaim for its quality and scientific originality.
