"Treasures of Gilding Art and Decoration in Islamic Manuscripts" in an Online Lecture at the BA

The BA Antiquities Museum and the Zahi Hawass Center of Egyptology, in collaboration with the Department of Antiquities and Civilization at the Faculty of Arts, Helwan University, organize an online lecture entitled “Treasures of Gilding Art and Decoration in Islamic Manuscripts”. The lecture is delivered by Dr. Tamer Mokhtar Mohamed, Assistant Professor of Islamic Art at the Department of Antiquities and Civilization, Faculty of Arts, Helwan University. The lecture is broadcast on Monday, 27 December 2021, at 7:30 pm, through the BA Antiquities Museum Facebook page.
The lecture sheds light on the history of gilding and its methods of use, as applied to early Quranic manuscripts, as well as the gilding used in Eastern and Moroccan manuscripts, in addition to highlighting the most famous Muslim gilders mentioned in Islamic manuscripts.
