Dr. Ahmed Zayed, Director of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, and Mr. Mohamed Hassani, Director of Misr Public Library in Luxor, signed a cooperation protocol between both entities, in the presence of Mr. Ahmed Abdel Moneim, Deputy Director of Misr Public Library, and Mr. Mahmoud Ahmed Moustafa, Director of Misr Public Library’s Communications and Information Technology Department. The ceremony was also attended by the BA heads of sectors and departments.
The agreement aims to establish a BA Embassy of Knowledge at Misr Public Library on Rams Road in downtown Luxor – one of the most prominent cultural institutions in southern Upper Egypt. The Embassy aims to serve students, researchers, and the people and visitors of Luxor who are interested in cultural and scientific affairs and knowledge.
Dr. Zayed mentioned that this Embassy is the 33rd in the series of embassies established by the BA at Egyptian universities and institutions, and the first Embassy to be established at an Egyptian public library.
At the end of the ceremony, Dr. Zayed and Dr. Hassani exchanged souvenirs.
